Partners from Croatia and Hungary have launched a new cross-border project titled Intensive Learning Courses for Higher Education Students (IC4HEDS). It is co-financed in scope of http://www.huhr-cbc.com/en/about-the-programme with total budget of 180.029,94 EUR. The kick-off meeting was held on-line on 22nd September 2020.

The project’s goal is to boost the cooperation between private sector and higher-education institutions, decrease the imbalance of the labor market and improve education quality in the cross-border area. The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the role of higher education institutions by making specific knowledge easily accessible, primarily in informatics and business.

The consortium is led by Technology Innovation Centre Međimurje Ltd. (TICM), other project partners being Faculty of Organization and Informatics University of Zagreb, University of Pannonia – Pannon Egyetem from Nagykanizsa and the Nagykanizsa Asset Management Plc.

During the meeting the partners agreed on all the key topics and problems in the project implementation, with special attention given to challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) and Pannon Egyetem (PE), with the help from other partners, will develop two entirely new courses focusing on digital transformation and industry 4.0 in general. The courses will be available to students as elective subjects and they will be able to earn ECTS points.  The curriculum development and content creation will start immediately and will be finished over the next eight months.

During the project implementation, at least four groups of ten students will attend new courses after they are developed. Two groups will attend them at University of Pannonia and two groups of students will attend the courses at Faculty of organization and informatics. Two faculties will mutually exchange the courses so all the students can benefit from both of them.

If feasible, each group of students will participate in a two-day study trip to the cross-border area, during which they will participate in workshops, visit business incubators, faculties and other institutions. It is also planned for project partners to visit an institution that is successful in implementation of e-learning solutions with the purpose of adapting good practices.

Additionally, employability related workshops will be organized for students in business incubators, three workshops will be organized in TICM, in Čakovec and three workshops will be organized in incubation and innovation centre in Nagykanizsa. In the initial phase of the project, as part of the supporting activities, each partner will equip its educational premises to achieve higher quality of courses and workshops.

We invite everybody who is interested in our project, especially students and entrepreneurs, to follow our work and participate in the courses and/or workshops in the following months. All the information about the project will be available on TICM web page (https://ticm.hr/projekti/intensive-courses-for-higher-education-students-ic4heds/) and on the Facebook page of the project.
