Business support institutions from Nagykanizsa and Čakovec are celebrating a cooperation jubilee this year. Nagykanizsa Asset Management Plc. – Business Incubator (NKVG) has been cooperating with Technology Innovation Centre Međimurje Ltd. (TICM) since 2012.

Professionals from these institutions started working together long before the cooperation between the institutions officially started. They first met during the implementation of I3CT Crossborder Clustering project, under IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme HU-HR.

The I3CT project focused on promoting a knowledge-based economy through close co-operation of relevant stakeholders such as higher education system, SMEs and business support organizations. TICM was the lead partner and worked closely with the current team members at NKVG who were then employed at Pannon Novum – the Western Danube Regional Innovation agency.

A decade has passed since then, during which they have continuously been following each other’s work and have been looking for an opportunity to cooperate.

TICM is focused on supporting the ICT scene, so it was only logical that they will cooperate on the ICT project. They have explored possibilities of building connections between IT companies in the two cross-border countries. Chance for cooperation emerged in 2019 when they jointly applied to the Second Call for Proposals under Interreg V-A Hungary – Croatia Co-operation Programme 2014-2020, with Intensive Courses for Higher Education Students (IC4HEDS) project.

The project implementation started in 2020. The expected project results are the development and implementation of two joint intensive learning courses, 10 workshops for boosting students’ employability, students’ study trips to the cross-border area and a study tour for project staff for best practice transfer. Business incubators, TICM (lead partner) and NKVG are responsible for organizing workshops for boosting students’ employability.

Cooperation between the two institutions has proven very productive and further strengthened the relationship between their team members, so both sides are looking forward to future cooperation.
