The ever-changing economy forces us to continuously upgrade our knowledge, sharpen our skills and adopt new ways of learning. Intensive learning programmes are accelerated, intensified courses in which students learn specific knowledge in time span shorter than usual. They represent an innovative and efficient way of learning.
Digital transformation and industry 4.0. have brought many changes in business and our lives and we have no other options than to adopt them. One of the main goals of Intensive Courses for Higher Education Students (IC4HEDS) project is to teach students about digital transformation and I 4.0 through intensive learning programmes.
Intensive Learning programmes about digital transformation and industry 4.0. will implement a blended learning concept, which means the students will be learning online independently in the first part of the course and face-to- face in the second part of the course. The course will be concluded with a study trip for students to visit the neighbouring country (Croatian students to Hungary and vice versa).
University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) will run the digital transformation course. Digital transformation is a comprehensive business transformation with the aim of taking advantages and opportunities of modern digital technologies and their impact on society. It involves the replacement or upgrading of products, services and processes using digital technologies (IoT, cloud computing, AI, etc.).
Students will apply creative methods and techniques of analysis and particular attention will be given to modelling as the basis of design.
Digital Transformation Course – concept
University of Pannonia (UP) will run an industry 4.0. themed course. The course will include theoretical knowledge about I 4.0 and specific knowledge about most commonly used computer languages. Industry 4.0 is based on the achievements of the third industrial revolution. Modern IT solutions such as cyber-physical systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence (AI) result in significant changes in production systems and supply chains. After the theoretical part, students will learn basics of some of the most commonly used programming languages (HTML, CSS 3, Bootstrap, PHP, DB usage of PHP, Arduino, Python).
Industry 4.0 IL Course – concept
Each course will run in two cycles, each including 30 students (15 from FOI and 15 from UP). Students who participate in the courses will gain 4 ECTS points, 2 points for the Digital Transformation course ran by FOI and 2 points for Industry 4.0 course ran by UP.
FOI will start with the first cycle of their courses on 4th October 2021, and applications are already open.
