SEO, SEM, Content marketing, pay-per-click and other Internet marketing tools is what students from Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb (FOI) have learned about in the workshop organized by Technology-innovation Centre Medimurje ltd. (TICM), on Friday, October 8th.

Internet marketing tools have quickly become one of the most popular and efficient advertising choices for many companies. This is the result of many of its advantages: efficient target group identification, two-way communication, multitasking, global reach, Return on Investment (ROI) is easy to measure, etc. Thus, to know how to use internet marketing tools brings relevant competitive advantage to the person who owns it.

Organizing workshops that give relevant and up to date knowledge to students, results with students being better prepared for their future careers.. This is one of the main goals of the project Intensive Courses for Higher Education Students (IC4HEDS) and this workshop is part of the activities aimed at achieving this goal. TICM is the lead partner, and other partners are University of Zagreb, Faculty of organization and informaticsThe Nagykanizsa Campus of the University of Pannonia.

An introduction was given by Ivan Plačko, director of TICM, who welcomed the students and briefly introduced them to the project.

Martina Zadravec (Sales Area Manager from KG MEDIA advertising agency) ran the workshop and shared a lot of precious Internet marketing tips&tricks. Among other things, they learned about the importance of the content quality, how to efficiently use SEO tools, good and bad examples of web pages, etc. Theoretical part had lots of good and bad examples for using internet marketing tools.

The workshop has been very dynamic and interactive.

In the second part of the workshop, students learned to use Google Ads and Facebook Business Manager with the lecturer navigating them through the process which allowed them to discuss and solve real questions and problems that came up in the process.

During the break students visited the Development and Educational Centre for the Metal Industry – Metal Centre Čakovec, where they could witness how the cooperation between the scientific community, business sector, public sector and business support institutions can deliver great results.

This is the second from five workshops planned as part of the activities of the Intensive Learning Courses for Higher Education Students (IC4HEDS) project, organized with the purpose to better prepare students for conditions in the labor market, by strengthening their competencies. The project is co-financed under INTERREG V-A Hungary-Croatia Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2014-2020   With this workshop we joined the European Cooperation Day celebration.
